Golden Gate National Recreation Area also includes the world famous Alcatraz prison and several other points of interest.
The Golden Gate Bridge connects San Francisco with Marin County and spans across San Francisco Bay. When it was completed in 1937, Golden Gate Bridge was the world’s longest suspension bridge (1.7 miles), and tallest structure west of New York City (745 feet).
