Arlington, situated just west of Washington, is home to Arlington National Cemetery (honoring military veterans), Ronald Reagan National Airport, the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Pentagon (headquarters for the U.S.Department of Defense). The Pentagon, a huge building actually shaped like a pentagon is said to be one of the largest office buildings in the world. On September 11, 2001, terrorists flew an airplane in the Pentagon, killing over one hundred workers.
