Amelia Earhart was one of America's most female pilots. Born in Kansas in 1897, Amelia became with flying after an air show in California in 1920. She soon bought her own airplane and instantly began breaking flight records. In 1926, Amelia became the first woman to in a non-stop flight across the Atlantic Ocean (although she was only a passenger). In 1932, Amelia became the first woman to pilot an airplane across the Atlantic Ocean. Amelia had her sights set on bigger , however. In 1935, she and Fred Noonan plans to fly across the world. On June 1, 1937, the historic began. After success, contact with the plane was lost after the pair left New Guinea on July 2. No one ever heard from Amelia Earhart or Fred Noonan again.
