Alexandria, situated just south of Washington, on the Potomac River, is known for its "old town" atmosphere along King and Duke Streets. Alexandria features great shopping, numerous food options, haunted house tours, and The Torpedo Factory, a huge showcase for local artists. In addition, Alexandria is the site of the national headquarters of PBS (Public Broadcast Service).
